Mary Jeannette Tibbott, 73, died on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at her home in Greeley. She was born on May 4, 1936, at Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Ida (Mausser) Francois. She graduated from Lamont High School in 1954.

Mary was united in marriage to Merwin Tibbott on April 19, 1956, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Masonville. Eight children were born to this union. Mary and Merwin farmed in the Dundee and Greeley areas until 1977 when, they moved to Greeley where they operated a restaurant and bar and later the M & M Auction House. Mary also managed and cooked at the senior meal site in Greeley.

Survivors include her husband, Merwin Tibbott of Greeley; eight children, Barbara Staton of Dundee, Dale (Penny) Tibbott of Greeley, James (friend Diane) Tibbott of Greeley, Ed (Renee) Tibbott of Manchester, Beverly (Burdette) Conner of Edgewood, Elizabeth (Bob) Dean of Zwingle, Larry Tibbott of Delaware, and Joe (Jayne) Tibbott of Edgewood; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; ten siblings, Robert (Ann) Francois of Manchester, Leo (Lois) Francois of Winthrop, Dorothy Roling of Earlville, Ray (Dorothy) Francois of Springfield, Missouri, Irene (Don) Fisher of Dubuque, Helen (Lawrence) Schaul of Dubuque, Tom (Pat) Francois of Dubuque, Frank (Patty) Francois of Reston, Virginia, Lori Prantner of Seattle, Washington, and Mike (Patsy) Francois of Masonville; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Luckeroth of Oelwein, and Ruth Francois of Manchester.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ed and Bill Francois.

Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers.
