Nancy Louise Wagner, 59, Monona, Iowa, died Thursday, July 02, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Monona, Iowa, following a long illness. Nancy was born on September 4, 1949, Postville, Iowa, to Ronald and Wilmarie (Huinker) Schultz.

She graduated from MFL High School in 1967 as the class salutatorian. While in high school, Nancy was active in basketball and softball. She later attended the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa where she recieved her Liberal Studies Degree in 1984. Nancy was united in marriage to Al Wagner at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa, on August 22, 1970. Two daughters, Katie and Megan, were born to this union.

In 1973, Nancy started working for the United States Postal Service in Monona, Iowa and in June of 2008, Nancy received the Thirty Five Years of Service Award. She was Librarian in Monona, Iowa, for over twenty years and staged many story hours for children which Nancy loved so much.

Nancy was past president of the Monona Community Betterment Club, a member of the Monona Woman’s Club for many years and was the recipient of the Special Governor’s Trophy. Nancy will be deeply missed by her many family and friends that knew her.

Survivors include two daughters, Katie (Everett) Willis, Monona and Megan Wagner, Cedar Rapids; one granddaughter, Zoey; three brothers, David (Jan) Schultz, Manchester, Dennis (Michelle) Schultz, Corvallis, OR and Tim (Carla) Schultz, Monona and a host of many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to the Hope Lodge in Rochester, MN and Prairie du Chien Hospice.
