Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. August 14, 2009 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church - Ryan, Iowa. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. at the church on Friday.
Interment: 1:30 p.m. August 14, 2009 at St. Francis Cemetery - Dyersville, Iowa

Marcella Marietta Wuchter, 99, of Manchester, Iowa, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.She was born on August 9, 1910, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Hittenmiller) Reittinger. Marcella attended Xavier School in Dyersville, and worked at the Glover Factory. She was president of the social circle at St. Patrick’s in Ryan and also belonged to a neighborhood club.

On September 26, 1928, she was united in marriage to Edward “Ed” Wuchter at the Basilica Church in Dyersville. Three children were born to this union. Together they farmed in South Dakota, Winthrop, and in 1945 settled in the Ryan area known as the “Silver Sixty”.

Marcella was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ryan and later a member of St. Mary’s in Manchester. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, her apple orchard, and especially her flowers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Betty Jane Werner of Manchester and Shirley Ann (Joe) Verkler of Davenport; nine grandchildren, JoAnn Besler of Manchester, Patty (Duane) Conrad of Manchester, Bonnie (Al) Nurre of Delhi, Karen (Reg) Van Dusseldorp of Colfax, Gary (Julie) Werner of Manchester, Rick Werner of Manchester, Steve (Cathy) Werner of Manchester, Kevin (Marjie) Werner of Manchester, Thom (Jen) Scheetz of Bettendorf; 5 step-grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Vi Feldman of Delhi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; infant son, Melvin; son-in-law, Jim Werner;a grandson, Mike Scheetz; and two sisters, Berneice Wuchter and Germaine Maiers.
