|Nellie A. Gordon, 61, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly Fayette County, died at the Iowa City Rehab and Health Center in Iowa City on Saturday, April 21, 2012. She was born in Cedar Rapids, on May 27, 1950, the daughter of Elmer and Viola (Collar) Hauschild, Sr. Nellie was raised and educated in Delaware County and was a 1968 West Delaware graduate.
Nellie was united in marriage to John Forest Gordon. Together they lived in Fayette County. Nellie was currently working at Century Cab in Cedar Rapids.
Nellie enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, David Gordon (special friend, Brandi Hurd) of West Union, Elmer (Rose) Gordon of What Cheer, and John Gordon of Fredricksburg; two daughters, Caroline (Jim) Padilla of Manchester and Grace Thomas of Arkansas; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Eugene (Edna) Hauschild, Carl (Joyce) Hauschild, and Lyle Hauschild all of Manchester.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Viola Hauschild, Sr.; her husband, John Gordon in 1995; one son, Billy Gordon; one brother, Elmer Hauschild, Jr.; and a son-in-law, David Thomas.
