Anna Mae Kramer, 96, of Elkader, died Friday, September 7, 2012, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader after a long illness. She was born April 9, 1916, at home rural Garnavillo, the daughter of Louis and Elta (Kalke) Eberhardt. Anna Mae attended Garnavillo Schools, graduating in 1934. Anna Mae was married to Milton Kramer on April 15, 1936. She was a homemaker in the early years, then worked 13 years for Dr. Tappan Optometry and later worked with Milton at East Side Cemetery. Anna Mae was a devoted and active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader, where she taught Sunday school for 54 years and also held many offices. She was a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America. She loved watching her three sons play basketball. Her favorite pastimes were bowling and playing Bingo. Tending her garden and flowers were also special to her. Survivors include three sons, Milt L. (Joanne) Kramer of Manchester, Clyde (Sandy) of Bella Vista , AR and Robert Kramer of Elkader; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, LaNida Eberhardt of Elkader and Lucille Eberhardt of Elkader and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Florence Fette and Marie Reimer; three brothers, LeRoy Eberhardt, Floyd Eberhardt and LuVern Eberhardt. | |
